He was born in Sichuan in 1967, He received his bachelor’s degree from the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in 1991. In 1993, I resigned from his university teaching position and established his own studio in Chengdu. currently, He lives and works in the Blue Roof Art Zone, Chengdu.

 

Consistent themes running through his creations are Discourse, Power, and Harm. His works primarily feature motifs such as giants, rostrums, microphones, thorns, text, mosaics and fragments of classics. Ranging from oil painting series including Rostrum, Big Head, Faces, Figure, Mosaic, and Floating to sculptural and installation series such as Thorn Microphone, Motto, Group Chat, Mosaic.classic, and AI & I . all his experimental visual artworks aim to resonate with the spirit of the times.

Notably, Castles in the Air (2015), which He co-curated and participated in, was China’s first major contemporary art exhibition centered on 3D printing.

 

Firm in the belief that “Art is art, science is science”, He integrates intelligent manufacturing technology into his creative practice, developing multiple series of “text installations,” “text sculptures,” and “text paintings” for the pixel age.

 

In the new era of advanced informatization and artificial intelligence, He upholds the contemporary art philosophy of “Freedom of Creation, Freedom of Consumption, Freedom in Consuming Creation”, focusing on producing limited-edition, multiple original artworks. He continues to launch the Motto text sculpture series, Thorn and Group Chat text installation series, as well as Mosaic.classic and AI & I text painting series.
